DURAWOOD IN DREVMAG

Durawood will attend the Eurosurfas – International Paint and Surface Treatment Exhibition which takes place in Barcelona from the 14-18 November, 2011.  This exhibition will play host to the greatest sector concentration of the market featuring products for the world of paints, varnishes and surface treatments.  A wide range of equipment used for surface preparation and paint application, control, testing, analysis and measuring will be promoted over the course of 5 days as will research, development, innovation and new applications for the industrial sector.  RTD partner, IRIS will host a DURAWOOD stand at this event and invite you to visit them to find more about the project.

The Month 15 Technical Meeting was hosted by RTD partner TTZ in Bremerhaven on the 17 February, 2011. The meeting involved the review of progress to date and the planned future work for DURAWOOD. All attending partners took part in a tour of the TTZ facilities and viewed a demonstration of DURAWOOD treated wood samples in terms of fungi resistance.

The DURAWOOD prototype for plasma treatment of wood was hosted by ARYECLA, a partner in the project, who specialise in the manufacture of high quality furniture. Participants saw the effect on the polarity of the wood induced by the plasma treatment and were able to visualize the continuous treatment of wood that DURAWOOD process offers.

As well as the demonstration, the project partners discussed the principles of the DURAWOOD system, as well as the basics of surface modification, plasma technology and fungi resistance of wood. Presentations were hosted by the CETEM, a technical centre specialised in wood and furniture. Francisco Melero, from CETEM, also presented on wood treatments during the one day session.

Turkcoat is being held in Istanbul from 6-8 October 2011 and seeks to serve as a meeting point for producers where they will have the chance to get in touch with several firms to satisfy their need for raw and supplementary materials such as  Paint, Binders, Solvents, Pigments, Fillers etc; Adhesive raw materials; Materials Used in Construction Chemicals and Intermediate Products; Additives and Admixtures, Laboratory and Manufacturing Equipment and much more.  The fair also is intended to offer quality control devices and laboratory supplies geared toward R&D objectives, newest production equipment and technologies that producers need. http://www.turkcoat.com/index.php
